Microsuction is widely regarded as the gold standard for ear wax removal. A small, fine suction tube is used under direct visualisation to gently draw wax out of the ear canal. It is precise, controlled, and does not require water.
Using olive oil ear drops for 3–5 days before your microsuction appointment helps soften the wax and can make removal more comfortable and effective.
Irrigation
Ear irrigation uses a gentle stream of warm water to flush ear wax from the canal. It is a well-established, comfortable method suitable for most patients with soft wax build-up. The water is delivered at a controlled pressure to ensure safety and comfort throughout.
We recommend using olive oil or sodium bicarbonate drops daily for at least 3–5 days before your irrigation appointment to soften the wax and improve results.
